However, players should note that both the digital edition and the 30th Anniversary Edition will be another limited-time release. The digital version of the game will only be available on the eShop until March 31, 2021, while the special edition will be available on December 4 until supplies last. Due to limited release, the demand for the 30th Anniversary version of Fire Emblem has skyrocketed since the announcement and is currently sold out.

Unsurprisingly, scalpers are already taking advantage of the situation and prices for the 30th Anniversary Edition are getting out of hand. As a reference, the Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition retails for $49.99, which is a good deal given the number of collectibles included in the special version. However, looking at eBay and other similar websites, several listings are offering the game for more than double the suggested retail price. Of course, given that the Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition is already sold out, some of the listings already have bids on them, which goes to show just how much in demand this special version of the game is.
To the uninitiated, the Fire Emblem 30th Anniversary Edition includes various freebies making it a perfect collectible for die-hard fans of the Fire Emblem franchise. It includes a download code for the Fire Emblem: Shadow of Dragon & the Blade of Light game, a Legend of Archanea deluxe art book, a replica Game Pak art piece, a mini Nintendo Power retro collectible, and a replica game box that includes an instruction booklet, protective sleeve, and world map.
Meanwhile, players should know that this is not the first time that scalpers have taken advantage of a Nintendo game’s limited release. Just last month, scalpers were discovered reselling Super Mario 3D All-Stars ahead of its launch date, and similarly to Fire Emblem, several listings have jacked up the game’s price due to its limited availability. Of course, it is understandable that Nintendo is only offering the physical versions of some of its games for a limited time, but it is unclear why the company is also treating the digital versions of these games the same way.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light will release for Nintendo Switch on December 4.
