This is very similar to the expansive hub of Garreg Mach that was introduced in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. For example, the entrance contains many things that can help prepare for upcoming battles, such as the armory for buying weapons. More items and tools will be added to these stores as the player progresses through the story of Fire Emblem Engage. There is also an accessory and clothes shop, where players can dress up their units in a variety of costumes.

This video also goes over some systems in Fire Emblem Engage that can help the player in a variety of ways. One is an area in the game where players can summon the spirits of other Fire Emblem characters that aren’t lords and imbue them into rings. These act as stat boosters, which can be forged into stronger variations. There is also a training area, where players can pit two units from their army into one-on-one fights, which can help level them up. There also appears to be a set of maps the player can take on that are disconnected from the main mission, which gives out some rewards upon clearing them.

The other half of the overview video goes into a number of socializing that the player can participate in that involves the characters they recruit. Some can be seen swimming, singing, or waiting around town for the player to engage with in Soranel. There’s also a cafeteria area, a tea time-esque mode, lost items, and even fishing, which are all reminiscent of Three Houses’ social activities during their days off.

The last few minutes are focused on the mini-games and other activities that can be found in Fire Emblem Engage. This includes an area where the player can scan their amiibo to get special bonuses, along with a pet raising simulator. There also appears to be a mini-game where the protagonist can put on a modern tracksuit and sweatpants to do physical training, along with one that sees the player flying through the sky and shooting targets. Once a player has exhausted their time, they can progress to the next day by returning to their bed and going to sleep.

Fire Emblem Engage is coming to Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
