Other characters in the reveal trailer were also given the spotlight, with tweets from the official Fire Emblem Twitter account giving short previews of these characters from neighboring kingdoms. One of these kingdoms in Fire Emblem Engage is known as Firene, with both its princess and prince being characters that players can recruit into their army. The official Twitter recently revealed another character from this kingdom, Chloe the Pegasus Knight.

According to her official profile, Chloe is a knight who serves and adores Firene’s Princess Celine. She is also described as a person who likes scary stories and beautiful imagery, and tries to find combinations of these two things whenever she can. A preview of her gameplay was shown, where she serves as one of the mounted flying units in the game riding her pegasus.
This starting class is known as Lance Pegasus according to a translation by SatsumaFS. Chloe’s pegasus also allows her to cover more ground than other units, flying through the air. Much like other Pegasus Knights in Fire Emblem, she’s described as being best used against magic units, but is balanced out by their inherent weakness to bows.
The last gameplay clip of Engage shows a support conversation between Chloe and Celine, where they are relaxing and having a discussion about their free time. Celine suggests that Chloe takes them on a ride on her pegasus so they can have some tea in an open field. Chloe is open to the idea, gladly accepting her offer.
Many fans have taken to Chloe and her design, with longtime fans recognizing that she shares a voice actor with another character from the franchise. That would be Caeda from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, the very first game in the series and Marth’s love interest and canonical wife. Fans are hoping that Caeda will be making an appearance as an Emblem, considering Caeda did play a similar role in Tokyo Mirage Sessions.
Fire Emblem Engage is coming to the Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023.
