However, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes gives a new function for smithing stones. Instead of being exclusive to weapons, smithing stones can now be traded in for building materials, which are used to expand Facilities. Fortunately, there are several ways to farm smithing stones in Three Hopes, so players won’t have to worry about being out of stock for too long.

How to Get Smithing Stones in Three Hopes
Trade Equipment and Resources
Once players unlock the Supply Depot at the Camp, they’ll be able to trade weapons and resources for smithing stones. Without building upon the Supply Depot, most weapons will only give one smithing stone.
The more stars and the higher the rank of a weapon, the more smithing stones it should give.
Players are also given the option to trade in resources such as Basic Building Materials. However, given that Resources are needed for expanding all Facilities, it may be best not to trade in Resources for smithing stones until late-game.
Certain Expansions can increase the number of smithing stones players will get for trading in weapons and resources. Other expansions include decreasing the number of smithing stones needed for payment.
Again, smithing stones can be used at the Supply Depot and the Blacksmith. Most weapons can be forged or repaired at the cost of 10 smithing stones, but higher-ranked weapons will need better minerals such as Mythril.
Explore the War Map
Doing all the Side Missions in each chapter will allow players to survey a liberated/blue area. Some points of interest are the mines, which can be interacted with to get ore. In the late game of Three Hopes, most of these mines will reap rarer minerals instead of generic smithing stones.
Smithing stones are also picked up in battle. The trick here is to defeat tons of enemies and break open the purple jars on the map.
Defeating enemies occasionally rewards players with gold, weapons, and materials. Getting an S Rank from battle makes it easier to obtain smithing stones as a reward. Usually, these are given in sets of eight.
When surveying the map, keep an eye out for Anna. She’ll move from one place to another each time players clear a battle.
Interacting with her on the war map will have her move to the base camp for that chapter. Anna sells special items, and one of these happens to be smithing stones.
In addition, having units learn the Appraisal skill from the Thief Class will increase the number of materials and weapons dropped from enemies.
Everyone can learn the Thief Class, but not everyone can learn Appraisal. Make sure to review what units will inherit from this Class before using an Intermediate Seal on them.
