Both new models mirror each other in features and aesthetics; they only differ in size. The Timberline has a cooking surface of 865 square inches and will retail for $3,499 when it’s available. The Timberline XL is much larger, at 1,320 square inches, and will retail for $3,799.
Don’t worry—even if you’re not quite ready for this product, the features and technology introduced with these new Timberlines will trickle down to other Traeger grills over time. Below is a closer look at some of the main features and overall improvements you can look forward to at some point.
A new full-color touchscreen display is used for controlling settings and temperatures.
Traeger says this outdoor-rated induction cooktop is the first of its kind in North America. It should provide additional versatility when preparing a meal. The new EZ-Clean Grease and Ash Keg system should make cleaning much easier than previous grills. Instead of a metal bucket hanging off the side, all the grease and ash are collected underneath in a single location.
Two Meater wireless meat thermometers are included. Those probes can monitor meat temperatures and display them in the Traeger mobile app.
Full stainless-steel insulation allows for hotter temperatures for cooking.
Traeger’s P.A.L. (Pop-and-Lock) rail system will allow for future customization and new accessories to be attached.
Internally, there is a more powerful 360 Wi-Fi antenna that should help with better wireless connections to a router.
There are external lights to make it easier to see when starting a long cookout in the dark.
Soon available at Traeger.
