On the same day of the game’s launch, new content hit the marketplace, including new series packs containing highly-valued players, as well as the release of the Nike City Connect jerseys. MLB The Show 22 players can use these items in modes like Diamond Dynasty to build a team to compete against others online or to take on the dozens of challenges available.

Diamond Dynasty is a hot ticket for the baseball franchise, as players consistently compete every year to obtain rewards, build a competitive team, and spend real money to collect every unit possible. Upon launch, the Headliners Choice Pack Set 02 was released, featuring Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Billy Wagner from one of the best teams in the game. The Phillies are among the best teams in MLB The Show 22, making the unit itself highly sought after and one that gamers won’t want to miss out on. Each set is available for a limited amount of time, with each new series replacing the last one, making time of the essence when it comes to completing a collection.
The Big Dog Choice Pack Set 02 will be available on April 8, but players are limited to two units from the set as they contain cards with extremely-high value and can give any roster a significant boost. Each featured player has an 87 overall rating and boasts great names like 1951 rookie Orestes Minoso and prospects Triston Casas and Noelvi Marte. While he isn’t considered one of MLB The Show 22’s best shortstops just yet, adding someone like Marte could drastically improve any team’s infield and is sure to become a prominent figure on many rosters.
The Nike City Connect jerseys are also available and can be worn in both online and offline modes. The new set of beautiful jerseys showcase different styles, colors, and fonts and are a fun extra for players to collect to give their teams a unique twist. Along with the announcement, MLB The Show 22 announced that a fix is live for parallel XP (PXP) missions, which did not correctly track at the time of the game’s release. The game experienced many problems right out of the gate, some of which are persisting, but San Diego Studio is working at properly fixing every issue. For the time being, players will be expected to remain patient during the game’s first month of trial and error.
MLB The Show 22 is available on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
