Two-time defending Olympic champion United States will stage a mini-camp with NBA stars in July at Las Vegas in the first steps in assembling talent to seek more gold in 2016 at Rio de Janeiro.

USA Basketball announced on Wednesday the men’s national team will stage workouts starting July 22 on the campus of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas culminating with an intra-squad game on July 25.

The mini-camp will feature rising young NBA standouts, NBA All-Stars and some members of last year’s London Olympic championship squad, with a full roster to be announced later in June.

It will mark the seventh time in the past eight years that the Americans have trained in Las Vegas.

“Las Vegas has become home for us,” said USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo. “As we begin training for the next quad with coach Mike Krzyzewski, we look forward to again showcasing USA Basketball’s talent.”

The camp will mark the first look for “Coach K”, who two weeks ago confirmed his return for the next four years as the US coach.

Krzyzewski, 66, is 62-1 in seven years guiding US NBA all-star squads in international events, losing only in a 2006 World Championship semi-final to Greece in Japan.
